Last night at the Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood Boulevard, celebrities gathered for ‘Imagine There’s No Hunger: Celebrating the Songs of John Lennon.’ The event hosted by Hard Rock launched the global campaign supporting WhyHunger’s fight against childhood hunger and featured performances of classic John Lennon songs by an array of musicians including Dave Stewart, Edgar Winter and Booker T.

Ringo Starr walked the red carpet with wife, Barbara Bach, and was joined by brother-in-law and musician Joe Walsh and wife, Marjorie Bach. Many other celebrities attended the event including Orianthi, Angie Everhart, Girls Next Door star Bridget Marquardt, Max Alder from Glee, Reid Ewing from Modern Family, Justin Willman from Hubworld and Gretchen Bonaduce.

The event was also a food drive for the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank where guests were asked to bring five canned goods each. Hard Rock International President and CEO, Hamish Dodds and Bill Ayres, Founder of WhyHunger brought their organizations together a few years ago to join forces in the fight against poverty around the world. Yoko Ono agreed with their idea of using the slogan “Imagine There’s No Hunger” for their campaign and granted permission for use of John Lennon’s famous song “Imagine.”

In tribute, at last night’s ‘Imagine There’s No Hunger’ launch event, Ringo Starr joined Dave Stewart, Edgar Winter and other musicians onstage to sing the finale of “Give Peace A Chance.” Other performances earlier in the night included Edgar Winter singing “Come Together” (with a great sax solo) and “Revolution” and Dave Stewart singing “Mind Games” and “Imagine.”
